O Apple Watch ficou ainda mais interessante desde sua terceira geração, que inaugurou o modelo com LTE — que permite atender ligações pelo relógio inteligente, sem precisar estar carregando o celular o tempo todo. Mas o que ainda o deixa bastante distante do iPhone é o fato de o smartwatch não ter uma câmera, o que impede a realização de chamadas em vídeo pelo relógio. Mas uma patente registrada pela Apple mostra que isso pode se tornar realidade, um dia.

Claro, o registro de uma patente não é sinônimo de que a tecnologia será implementada de fato, mas a novidade é realmente interessante. A patente mostra um "relógio de captura de imagens" que, além de permitir videoconferências pelo Apple Watch, também é capaz de fotografar e filmar. Uma lente grande angular seria montada em um sensor embutido à pulseira, que pode ter, na verdade, duas câmeras — uma em cada base.

A patente também propõe um sistema multi-câmera, que capturaria um campo de visão ainda mais amplo, com as imagens então sendo "costuradas" para fornecer uma fotografia final. Essas várias lentes podem ser uma combinação de teleobjetiva, grande angular, macro e olho de peixe, inclusive.

Agora, a gente fica aqui imaginando um Apple Watch capaz de filmar tudo o que estamos vendo enquanto estamos por aí, registrando o dia a dia das pessoas automaticamente, algo que, até então, a gente só vê em filmes de ficção científica.

A wide-angle lens would be mounted on a sensor built into the strap, which could actually have two cameras - one at each base.

The patent also proposes a multi-camera system, which would capture an even wider field of view, with the images then being "stitched" to provide a final photograph. These various lenses can be a combination of telephoto, wide-angle, macro and even fisheye.

Now, we stand here imagining an Apple Watch capable of filming everything we're seeing while we're out there, automatically logging people's day-to-day stuff, something that we've only seen in science fiction movies.
